Hi, I’m Tim Pannell.  I’ve been a commercial photographer for over 24 years and have shot for clients all over the world.  If there is one consistent thing missing in most of the amateur photography from parents taking shots of there kids it’s this:

They don’t understand quality of light and how to use it to enhance their pictures.

The common misconception is that you have to have a ton of expensive studio lighting and expensive 8 billion megapixel cameras to get great pictures.

Let me state this clearly……It’s just not true.  There are countless ways to get great lighting without spending a fortune on lights.  The photographer’s eye is more important to the success of the overall picture than the quality of the camera.  I know, I know, I know……geeze Tim, you use a 23 megapixel camera, why shouldn’t I?  If you can afford one then great, bet one, but great lighting and composition principles can be applied to any camera to get better results.

That’s my goal for this blog.  I want to teach parents ( especially moms since you do 98% of the pictures of your kids) how to take better pictures of their kids without going broke.  I want to throw out the common misconceptions people have about what it takes to create a great image.

Ultimately, I want to help people take timeless pictures of their children.  If executed correctly, you’ll be able to shoot images of your kids that will look as great in 30 years as they do today.

I will be creating webinars and tutorials showing different techniques from start to finish.  If you’re interested in learning the principles that will help you get better at shooting your kids then I hope that this blog will be your favorite place on the internet.  I will share everything I’ve learned about shooting kids throughout my career in the hopes that it will make you a better photographer.
